This standing stone is close to the peak of Tonelagee in the Wicklow Mountains, overlooking the Wicklow Gap. This image was taken shortly after sunrise in late December. Freezing conditions and high winds the night before gave a wonderful layer of rime across the vegetation and across the leading edge of the standing stone. Processing the image in black and white accentuates the textures and contrasts across the stone and the frost-covered landscape.
